Does any one know if and how an EDB registered Tutorial Centre can register teachers with the EDB? EDB website is soooo confusing.

The information can be found here:
http://www.edb.gov.hk/index.aspx?nodeID=268&langno=1

I'm guessing you would need to apply for "Permission to Employ an Unregistered Teacher" - unregistered meaning not registered in HK. As long as you have some sort of qualifications there should be no problem.

If you want to be registered as a teacher in HK, you need to apply to the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation. It takes them a month or so & costs a bit over $2000 to have all your qualifications verified. The only hassle I found with them is that they insist on all your exam results right back to Year 11 school results. Seems a bit asinine to me but that's HK bureaucracy for you.

The permit costs nothing but allows you to only teach at the specific centre applying. Everytime you change jobs you will need to apply for a new permit.
The registration costs $2000+ and allows you to teach where-ever.
