Ok, this will sound a bit weird but i'll ask it anyway Very Happy. I completed 2 dog training courses and i love training dogs and since i would like to move to Japan in the near future, i wanted to use the knowledge somehow. So i got this crazy idea since i saw that there is a visa for animal trainers (skilled labor visa) available that maybe i could find a trainer that would take me as a trainee/apprentice and help me master the craft. The problem is i can't find anyone to contact for this. So, if anyone knows anything or finds anything about the matter, please help me and let me know.

Thanks! Smile

Considering the language barrier that you are likely to face with the master and customers, how's your Japanese level of speaking and reading/writing?

Hmmm have you ever trained service dogs or police dogs? I know that the drug sniffing dogs in immigration are trained in English.

Seeing eye dogs are trained in English, too. Apparently, the dogs find Japanese confusing. I know how they feel.

@pnksweater

No, i never trained service dogs or police dogs because that is a job for professionals but i would like to learn how to do it. I learned how to teach dogs appropriate behavior and agility(sport) for now.

I suggest you contact JETRO. See if anyone will take you on. Contact the Guide Dog Association, too.
