I have a friend who just broke his contract here, I visited the place too and it is much worse than you say.
He signed a contract over the internet for 5000rmb a month through a recruiter.
When he arrived they told him it was 4350rmb. When he complained they first said that is what they wanted to pay him but they couldn't afford it! They then said that contract was only a proposal.
Then Every month he would get paid late, when he took his 'new'contract in to show them when he should be paid they told him that contract was only only a draft!
Overtime was also piled on him which he was never paid for.
If he complained through email they were ignored and if he complained in person he was told to write it in an email!!
The accomadation was really bad, very small, none of the appliances worked, live wires hanging out, very dirty too, the place clearly had not been cleaned for years.
There was an 11pm curfew and if the guard was in a bad mood you wouldn't be allowed in.
There were plenty of other rooms available but he wasn't allowed to move as they were either for university guests, the president lived there or it was the security office!!
The general excuses for any these things were either it was the law! Siyuan policy! Or it was the presidents decision!
The teaching was a complete joke too, he could teach them anything, there was no structure or support, you couldn't fail students as every passed because they were paying for it!
None of the equipment worked in the classrooms and no maintenance was every done to any of the buildings so there was no reinvestment in the school at all.
I was surprised he lasted a term. |
