A quick survey --
1. How do you get to your job?
2. How long does it take?
3. What does your commute cost? |

I can walk to work in 20 minutes. Or take a taxi for the equivalent of US$2.50.
Some colleagues use a velocipede. Many are worshippers of FORD and use the internal combustion engine which true believers like myself spurn as the work of Beelzebub. |

1. The most beautiful metro in the world - The Moscow Metroplitan named in honour of Lenin
2. About 10 minutes (if you miss a train, you only wait a minute or two for the next one)
3. 30 day unlimited pass is about 17 USD |

I live on the School grounds and that is perfect as far as I am concerned. I can take a shower during the very hot days and work on my computer between classes. The only time I leave my apartment is for a 40 minute lesson, and then I come straight back here. I do not put any time in the office any more. |

I walk two blocks and cross a busy street. Usually takes about 5 to 7 minutes. |

I take a 15 minute public bus, followed by a 20 minute school bus. If I decide to drive my car, it would be about 25 minutes one way. |

It takes me about an hour each way. I bicycle, take a train and walk. The train is paid for by my employer. |

I walk. It's about a four-minute walk.
If I have errands to run during my lunch break or immediately after class, I drive. The drive takes about 38 seconds.

I walk out the door of my building, cross a driveway and a lawn, and I'm in my office.
I would rather commute to work and be living in a cool city, however. We are an hour from downtown, and I often feel isolated. |

You guys are all lucky! I live on campus which is nice for my job there. But when I do part-time work and private lessons it can be up to a 2 hour commute into the city by bus in snarled traffic. That doesn't happen all the time, though.

A madcap motorbike ride of 6 miles/9km over approx 15 minutes, a mixture of urban gridlock and fast multi-lane roads. Cost is about 1 litre of petrol each way plus bike maintenance, insurance etc. Unless it is raining my commute to work is actually fun. |

A three - minute walk, give or take. I live on campus too. So if I have a break between classes, I can always go home and sleep! Or clean, most likely. |
