ًwell if that is the case that would be breaking the law I have a friend who moved to riyadh and he did they same you give the passport in exchange for iqama once it has been done. Plus they pay flights so it's unlikely they will not go with what they say

If you arrive with an employment visa, then yes, you hand over your passport in order to have your iqama processed. BTW, your employer does not have the legal right to retain your passport once the iqama has been issued.

Since you're going over on a business visit visa, you are not eligible for an iqama because this type of visa does not grant you the right to work or reside in KSA. It allows you to "visit" the country for the purpose of doing business. And as Grendal pointed out, you'd have to do visa runs every 90 days. This is why I suggested you ask your recruiter what the process is for getting an iqama. But again...

OK, so, to sum up:

- New company with no track record.

- They haven't given you crucial information such as who and where you will be teaching and your actual contact hours, the number one factor that can affect whether a job here is bearable.

- No accommodation or transport provided. No acknowledgement that this will not be easy to sort without an Iqama.

- Company "website" that is a combination of lorem ipsum filler text and mangled English"Managrial English". More importantly, if they have shown it to you, they evidently consider it to be at an acceptable standarda sign of their professionalism and of things to come?

- Substantially lower than average salary when considering no housing or transport is provided.

- They are expecting you to come in on a business visa, i.e. lie and then work illegally, on the vague promise that at some stage in the future they might convert it to a real one (if this is even possiblesome disagreement about this).

But...but... they are prepared to pay your airfare and provide you with medical insurance, so everything must be legit?

(Have you checked to see how comprehensive the medical insurance is and if it's even valid for someone working illegally, by the way?)

I don't know about you, but personally I'd ask some serious questions before I was prepared to even consider this.

That is because they have figured out that they need to be afraid of you. Cool
