Actually, instead of being a smart azz (in which case I would have made some SA comment) I simply stated that it beat me and I really did want to know.

1 post and I would have assumed a typo. 2-3 posts AND your thread title and I assumed it was something legit and after spending some time on google it really did beat the heck out of me and I really did want to know what you were looking for.

I may have a bit of a short/sharp tongue (or keyboard as the case may be) when answering a repeated query that was answered one or two threads earlier but I am not prone to smart azz comments.

I will refrain from critical comments about you on a personal level. Your posts speak for themselves.

If you can transfer credits, get credit for prior learning (TEFL certs), or credit for work experience, you can get out some courses. I was able get out of 4 out of 8 classes that way. Saves a lot of money.

Also, don't go for the cheapest option. I made that mistake. Once. My first degree cost about 2000 or 4000 usd, I forgot, absolutely horrible though, no support, no rubrics, random grades, took forever for them to grade my thesis, etc. Took longer to finish my MA than my BA.

Bottom line is it was obvious what I was talking about / referring to. Type in MA TEFOL into google and MA TESOL is what pops up. You know how to use google dont you?

Next time, id suggest saying "you meant MA TESOL didnt you and proceed with any relevant info / knowledge you have in regards to the topic at hand. And if you dont have any relevant info on the topic at hand then refrain from posting / commenting.

Thanks Wink

Seriously? You might want to consider occupations other than teaching. It seems likely that you would do much better in an area that does not require a high degree of language awareness or the ability to interact with other people. Since you currently seem to be looking at ways to obtain a teaching qualification, this might be a good time to take stock and consider a change of direction.

@tttompatz

I'm sorry if you cant see how your comment might have been perceived as "smart". We are on an ESL forum so I'm hard pressed to believe you cant discern that MA TEFOL was meant as MA TESOL. Esp AFTER the initial comments from me and another poster.

@AGoodStory

Thanks for your advice, but I will do what ever occupation I desire.

Dear CarolinaTHeels,

First, let me extend my condolences - I was rooting for the Tar Heels to beat Kansas.

But let me also mention that you may well be misjudging tttompatz. The ESL/EFL field is so rife with manifold acronyms (and even anacronyms) that it's entirely possible he/she was being quite honest in his comment.

http://www.teaching-esl-to-adults.com/esl-acronyms.html

And that's only a VERY partial list.

Regards,
John

@john

If by slight chance he honestly had no clue I was talking about TESOL, then I send out my apologies. Still find that hard to believe, but the way I took it was he was poking fun of me using the wrong acronym.

Anyways we have flamed this thread enough. Lets keep this related to MA TESOL.
