Hi, just curious of my current status for applying to China jobs. My CBC was issued from the last time I was on US soil before going to Korea in 2009.

Does anyone have any idea if I need to get a new CBC from the US even though I have been in Korea and now Philippines since leaving?

Oh and one more problem. My Passport was just stolen from me and obviously my records of being in Asia are my stamps...

maybe that is a question for the Embassy in Manila tomorrow, but I was just hoping there is a helpful voice out there that could shed some light before tomorrows hellish Manila adventure.

The majority of positions in China do not require the criminal background check.

If you receive a position in China, the local police are only interested in your entry stamp (and perhaps any questionable countries that you may have visited).

Echoing Sinobear, entry stamps will be pretty non-relevant. Good luck.

Oh, I thought a background check was required for teaching jobs in China. Guess I was wrong. Cool.

some schools do require it.

but it's more or less a random 1% just like the 5 year rule or the 60+ rule.
