| JerkyBoy, did you check with Turkish Air? I'm sure they'll should put you up in a hotel with a meal voucher at no charge to you. |
Checked again with Turkish Airlines - they would normally provide a hotel/ food at no charge if the stopover is more than 10 hours, but in my case, the two portions of the itinerary were booked separately and so I get nothing.
Cue violins? |

That makes no sense... try to get to a management level at Turkish Airlines. Tell them to book it correctly...

Yeah, I now believe it to have been an admin error on the part of the airline.
The airline have said that because the travel agent booked London to Istanbul and then Istanbul to Riyadh separately, instead of London to Riyadh via Istanbul, that my ticket does not qualify for the hotel room, etc.
I think it is more likely that the airline's cancelling of the second portion of the original itinerary has lead to this discrepancy (a reservation was made, the airline changed it's schedule, then the booking was made).
I have been in touch with various departments via email and it is being looked into. |

Well it seems even retards are innocent until proven guilty - Ed Ex were telling the truth - it was an admin error on the part of Turkish Airlines which resulted from their cancelling one of their services!
So I have been yanking my bosses' chain all week over sweet FA - even using accusatory rhetoric and presenting evidence against them via email - fanning the flames of hysteria. I trust that has not endeared me to them. I must strive to ingratiate myself.
A humiliating climb-down then. A heart-felt apology. And a lesson for the future.

| Good insights, Jerky Boy. Hopefully your new bosses and co-workers won't hold it against you and the experience will pay off in future better strategies. We all live and learn, after all! |

mate, talk about a comedy of errors. Those glitches are so funny. That job is going to be a laugh a minute. Frankly you should be thanking them for the extra day in Istanbul. Did you know you can book a room/ bed in Istanbul online with airport pickup for $10 with breakfast. Foods great, fantastic place. I hope you benefited from your visit there, JB. If you can access this site , I'm eager to follow your little melodrama and find out more about your success on your money making mission to KSA. |

If you check the other threads... he made the sensible decision not to go at all.

| Don't worry, when they start to book your flight out, they will probably insist on using Saudi Air because someone has a brother who gets a kickback through Saudi Air. Then you'll have an even more screwed up connection. At least you got a trip on Turkish Air coming in. |

I flew Saudi Air from New York straight into KSA. Not that bad of an airline---I was pleasantly surprised. BTW, JerkyBoy changed his mind about going to KSA. |

| Forget your notions of common sense...this is the Gulf. They will hire you and fire you according to their own retarded logic. You either need the money or you don't. There is absolutely no other reason to spend time in Saudi, or the Gulf unless you are a convert. |

Logic?
There were some Philipino guys living near me who work at the local hospital. They had a pleasant half a km walk there. When the government decided to renovate our building they moved the Philipinos to a building miles away next to the university and then moved the university teachers over to the renovated place next to the hospital. Neither groups are happy about driving but are now forced to.
When I pointed out the 'logic' of this to the Housing Dept supervisor he hit the roof, took my employee number and said he'd complain about me
Haven't heard from him yet. No doubt he thought a take-away menu from Grillo was a complaints form and my misdemeanour consists of a chicken kebab and Turkish pizza. |
