If I had to do it again; Whilst I enjoyed the Canterbury course immensely and found it challenging and professional etc. I would take the CELTA, yes its a bit more expensive but its the `Gold Standard` in terms of TEFL certification, and you wont have any of the problems that I have had if you decide to teach anywhere other than Spain. With a non CELTA or Trinity TESOL you will come up against problems in the UK/Ireland/Parts of Asia and Mid East - if a job opportunity comes down to a choice between a CELTA holder and a non-CELTA holder, CELTA will win every time.

You are right about this one and what really is much higher than the CELTA is the DELTA, but that's more for people who are thinking of becoming Director of Studies or administrators. Go for the CELTA if you can.

To further clarify Shawn's useful point about the DELTA - it's normally recommended for people who already hold a CELTA or equivalent, and who have a couple of years of experience under their belts. It would be very difficult to succeed on a DELTA without some background in the field (if they'd even accept you on the course; I doubt that anyone would).
