Six weeks to the end.,.. and this morning, three girls, make that lady students, came up to me to inform me as follows:
"Good morning, Sir, we want to join the ncommike, how do you say?... the coma..., the commoonist party... so we cannot come to your English lessons any longer. Can you excuse us?" |

| Is it that they can't take English lessons, or there is a conflict between your lessons and their Party meetings ... or are they just trying to come up with clever excuses? Either way, at least they have their priorities straight. |

If you want to join the party you do have to go to about four hours of "classes" a week. I have had students with this conflict. I am all for them being interested in their country. They still fail the course. Their scheduling conflicts are not my worry.
I too hope to start classes for joing the party as soon as my CHinese becomes good enough. I think I have people who will nominate me. The party seems supportive and realistic about the possibilities.
One obstacle is that I no longer like drinking bai jiu. |

That is funny. You still fail them. Like your class is so important that they risk failing it. Funny!
