I don't know how much these guys think Im making but a reputable school in Guadalajara believe I need all of my documents translated.


B.A and Apostille $ 280 pesos

Certificate of Birth (back and front) $ 250 pesos

Certificate (Cambridge) (front) and Apostille $ 240 pesos

Passport $250 pesos

Transcript (front) (I do not think the back is needed) $240 pesos

This is the quote from the translator. Is it really essential to get all these translated? The director of the school isnt trying to screw me, shes not making anything herself, but I think she might be misinformed about this....Im not sure I need them all translated, and if I do, I dont think I need them all translated, maybe just the degree and TEFL certificate. What do you think?

Who ever heard of someone needing there passport translated? Youve got to be kidding me. Its a document for international travel

Walk into the office and ask the woman in question to translate your middle finger upturned, in her face. That should provide your answer on who bears the cost of ridiculous.

The silliest thing there is the request for your birth certificate. At best, a copy of your passport is fine. Sounds like you're dealing with someone who has little clue as to how things are done in this century.

Glad you like that DL...Mexico is a paper-happy country but there's no reason for the OP's dilemma. The most that immigration will need is your passport and degree. The employing school shouldn't need more than that. Transcripts, birth certificate...why? Do they want your blood type too?

That being said, those prices are dirt-cheap, so you are getting a good offer in that respect, at least.

First I have to say those translation fees are very reasonable! (For a transcript I'd charge twice that Transcripts are a PAIN in the arse to translate, you have to try to intrepret the schools abriviations.

But for IMMIGRATION I think you only need your degree and TEFL cert plus their corrosponding Apostilles translated.

The school may want the other documents for themsleves? In which case maybe the can pay for the translations!

Im wont get my passport or trnascripts translated then. Notamiss is saying seconding birth cert but others are saying no. Whats the verdict on whether I need that translated?

I will still get my BA degree and TEFL certificate done.
