| Neither, if you are serious about reading on it for extended periods of time, you want an e-ink screen not a back lit screen. |

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't get eye strain from LCDs?
If you intend to do things other than read, I'd be inclined to go for the Nook - whack Cyanogenmod CM7 on there and you have a full-featured tablet PC. |

One take on LCD vs e-ink screen question--the author seems to share your opinion, Mr. Monkey.

I have a (now discontinued) Nook WiFi. Which has a depressingly low battery life (I hear the Nook Touch is a lot better in that regard), and can't handle text wrapping for PDFs (I convert all PDFs to epubs in Calibre). But I agree with some previous comments. If I'm going to read books electronically, it won't be on a backlit screen. (I actually prefer paper books, but that's no good for extended periods of time abroad.) I own a Galaxy Tab to do the tablet stuff, and a Nook WiFi solely to read books on.

| The Kindle Fire is a watered down version of the ipad. I would rather have an ipad...however you can barely get a refurbished ipad2 for $350?? |
