I know lots of people in Khobar and Damman and was wondering if I need a visa to go to Bahrain for the weekend. I am a single entry in the KSA and want to go to Bahrain and was told I dont need a visa to visit Bahrain. Am I able to go freely? Do I need a multiple re entry from the KSA?.

Dear Hatcher,

Unless things have changed a lot (and I doubt they have) no foreigner can leave Saudi to go anywhere without first obtaining an exit visa.

Well, that's if you're there on a "work visa" - if you're on a "business visa" or (I think it's the same thing) a "work-visit" visa, then you should be able to leave anytime - not sure about your being able to get back in, though. I suppose if your "business visa" dates are OK, it wouldn't be a problem.

Regards,
John

You don't need a Bahrain visa. You need a multiple entry legal work visa from Saudi which allows to leave and enter easily.

If you are there working on an illegal "business visa"... my understanding is that you can leave, but... I'm not sure that you could get back in. I believe that it is single entry and single exit.

We need someone to come on and tell us their experience doing this.

if you are in ksa on a single entry visa from your employer/sponsor you need to get another exit an re-entry visa, simple as that, however, will your employer give you one?

Human Rights Watch representative says that Saudi Arabia is the main reason Obama administration won't stop support for the Bahrain regime's atrocities. http://www.democracynow.org/blog/2012/5/8/part_2_human_rights_watchs_kenneth_roth_on_palestinian_prisoners_saudi_arabias_role_in_bahrain

If u have a "Western" passport you dont need a Bahraini visa. Technically they give you one of limited validity on arrival.

Your hassle will be getting your Saudfi exit/re--entry.

Good litmus test for an employer. Reasonable employers make it easy. Ratbags do not.

You need to check on the updated situation regarding Bahraini visas. In retaliation for the number of foreign protesters, the regime very recently threatened to remove the a visa-on-arrival concession for most Western nationalities. Not sure if this was ever actually implemented though.

Examine your conscience about the morality of visiting Bahrain.

Of course if you have the morality of Ecclestone it is okay.
