Young, hopeful, slightly naive, but willing to move to saudi and learn from her situation as well as adapt ..sure.

Old, bitter, hating life....Please look at yourself in the mirror

I appreciate the honest words coming from some of the members in this forum. Very informative and they state the negative and positives. Like the individual who mentioned it being an easier situation/better situation if i was to pursue for example Korea. Veiledsentiments is also very helpful as well as sarcastic at times but is honest in feedback- and at least funny. And then there are men like CMP45..... It's like watching an old horse being put out to pasture....

Yes that's correct...best wait until you are old, then maybe you will be ready for KSA Laughing Hopefully by then you will have attained higher qualifications along the way to qualify for the better jobs... as for the 'bitterness and hate life' part? Although you are still young, hopeful and naive, give it some time dear as you experience more of life's disappointments and failures, I am sure you too will manage to develop these traits as you seem already well on your way. They will really help you fit in with the rest of KSA society.
jus sayin... Shocked

You're going to learn that, as a female, in KSA you're a 2nd-class citizen. Actually, I was 2nd-class, being a non-Saudi, but at least I was male. Being female, as well as non-Saudi, you are more like 3rd class. You're also going to learn that Saudi Arabia is mind-numbingly boring and devoid of culture. You'll also hopefully learn that no amount of money is worth suffering an existence in the tragic kingdom. Enjoy. Laughing

Have you had a direct hire offer? Or is this just your fantasy?

Many have tried, but we have had few who managed to end up there with a direct hire ARAMCO offer.

I would say your comments are the most entertaining up to this point...You've been 'hoping' for a while now....so...what is it? Are you in KSA at Aramco now earning the big bucks or still hoping to be???

It seems odd that you would be arriving at the end of a school year instead of the beginning -near end of August....Are you teaching ESL...or ???

Yes, you will experience some culture shock, if this is your first time in KSA. However, I assume if you are living on a compound, at the end of your work day, you will probably have less, if any interaction with the rest of the local population. I supose it depends on how curious or willing you are in learning/ exploring the local culture, surroundings etc.

Something tells me you are not, as you wrote, "I gotta do it". Strikes me as some one who will undoubtedly have a miserable time or view your time in KSA as a paid prison sentence. At any rate with that big fat pay cheque each month, I am sure you will manage to soldier on Laughing As long as you don't do something stupid like lose your sanity in the process Cool
