I can remember as a young teenager in 1962 being taken to listen to Benjamin Britten's Requiem in the newly rebuilt Coventry Cathedral that had been virtually destroyed by German bombers in WW2.

Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau was the soloist. His baritone voice was sublime.
Even as a youngster, I was moved.
