Here's an update on my situation: I just got hired today by a local tutoring company in an ethnically diverse area (Vietnamese, Mexican, Somalian, etc.). Not a foreign country, but close enough to one! Laughing But seriously, I know the area well because I have taken computer classes nearby. Fitting in shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll be starting my training there next week. The manager already has a good impression of me. Very Happy

Thanks for sharing your news. I'm really happy for you. If you still want to come to Japan, this seems like a great stepping stone.

I had a few experiences with aspergers students. Lengthly ones.

Just do what you feel you can do - after careful consideration.

But remember - working in groups is a big part of this overseas ESL thing. Especially in Japan. And the nail that sticks out get mercilessly nailed down.

I've seen people with differences get hurt more than few times under theses kinds of circumstances. Just think about it. Are you good with social politics? if the answer is Hell No - well, just think about it.

My aspergers students had trouble with this. What about you? Reflect carefully on the past here. How do you fair here? Just be honest with yourself. Are you good with groups? Can you play along without itching to express?
