*my first post - bear with me*

I have an interview scheduled with Teach Away for a school in Dammam. It's the Roward AL Khaleej International School. I just wanted someone to share their experiences on the school and/or area.

The title of your thread is vague. It would help if you were more specific about what it is you want to know.

Yes

Not me... but surely someone is. Laughing

You will get a better response if you give them a real question to answer.

CHANGE the titleof the thread to something more specific. Maybe the name of the school ?

We don't really mean to pile on you, but "newbies" often ask such vague questions that one has no idea how to answer. Laughing

I can say that TeachAway has a good reputation in its Abu Dhabi contracts... and very few recruiters have good reputations anymore.

Are you a certified/licensed teacher in your home country? That is what will qualify you for the decent employers in the Gulf... and there are way too many who are not good to teach for.

What I would ask in the interview is who the students are in this school. "International" in a school title can mean a mix of students of different nationalities or it can mean all local kids and a curriculum that is... not local... or just teaching in mainly English rather than Arabic.

These kinds of schools tend to be better if some of the kids are Western expats since their parents press for a curriculum that will keep them up with the education system back home.

Hopefully someone will pass through who is familiar with the school. But since most of us here are EFL teachers, not K-12 teachers, we are unfamiliar with all the various schools available.
