|
|
My Spanish isnt great....could someone explain what Ill need to get an FM3 for the first time in Guadalajara?
Heres what I have:
Photos
a copy of my passport photo page
Carta de empleo from my school
Application downloaded from INM website
Formato Basico
Copies of my degree and Celta, and translations.
As I understand, I need to pay the fee in the bank, so I will still need:
A bank receipt for payment of the INM fee.
Problems
1. What about proof of address? What will this involve? I can ask my landlord if he has something.
2. I dont have any proof of income yet, only a carta de empleo
3. I dont have a bank account |

Make sure to make two copies of the bank receipt for having paid the fee.
Proof of address doesn't need your name on it...only the address on a bill, such as water or Telmex that matches the address you are using for the application.
First FM3? Then you couldn't possibly have a bank account, so no need to show it. Nor would you have income/taxes, so no need for them there either. |

I've always been asked by INM for 3 copies of the bank receipt AND I make one for myself - useful if the employer reimburses you. It's always better to have too many than not enough.

Not surprised...there's a reason every second business in Mexico is a copy joint. |

I was talking with a friend this morning about proof of address in Mexico. She's American and of course worried that she didn't have anything linking her to that address so she was worried that it wouldn't be accepted.
I told her not to worry. They are not seeking to prove that you live at X address--they are seeking to prove that you are providing them with a VALID address. That the address actually exsists. This is why they won't take the address listed on a driver's license or voter ID card, but only a utility bill, because the utility company had to go to that place to install the service.
Oh and to the OP--for a first time FM3 you usually need a copy of every single page of your passport, not just the photo page. |

Do you mean that the website told you to come in? This should mean your FM3 is ready.
To be safe, bring in everything you have already, including receipts and copies of everything you have. At minimum you'll need your passport as ID to pick up your FM3...takes a bit of time though as they'll first fingerprint you then have you wait for the card. |

I went to INM yesterday to pick up my FM3 (4th prrroga). All they wanted to see was my passport and the sheet of paper they give you when you turn in all your paperwork. I was in and out in under an hour. This was in Mexico City, by the way. |

Unfortunately Im not so lucky they wanted me to come in to hand them a piece of paper saying I wanted to change my status. It took two hours.
Right now my status says:
29/05/2012 Registro de alcance Delegacin Regional en Jalisco
Im supposed to go back in two days I think. Also, I dont know why they haven't taken my photos or the full payment.....I only paid 550 pesos once |

Sorry you're having problems in Jalisco with the INM, but as we know, each office functions differently, sometimes to our advantage, sometimes not. I hope things work out for you, and soon! |

Hi, right now theyre asking me this....
04/06/2012 Presentarse en una oficina del INM Delegacin Regional en Jalisco
04/06/2012 Registre los datos para la expedicin de su forma migratoria Delegacin Regional en Jalisco
when I click the link: 'Para la expedicin de su Forma Migratoria, registre o actualice sus datos aqu.' it just takes me back to my data, and saving it just logs me out. Do you think I need anything else before going back to the INM (again!) |
