You should also be aware that Thai 'education' and the Westerners who work in it are (with some considerable justification) not held in particularly high-esteem by employers in much of the Middle East; even the mediocre ones. If both your certificate and MOST of your teaching experience have been obtained in Thailand, this will seriously hinder your employment prospects in the region, except perhaps at places where you would probably not wish to work.[/quote]
Do you think this is also the case with the respected International House CELTA course? Would it make a difference whether I completed this course in London, UK or Chiang Mai, Thailand? After all, it is the same company. Thanks |

CELTA is CELTA is CELTA. Cambridge course, global recognition. |

Agreed. Teachers do not always agree with what the CELTA teaches, but it is reasonably well regulated so there is a certain amount of quality control. This and the brand leads employers to lean on it (and Trinity) rather than relatively unknown courses. |
