Seeing a thread initiated by an FT who's teaching at a public primary school makes me wonder if non-uni (or vocational college) FTs are being forgotten here.
Can teachers at public primary, middle and high schools register on this poll which also tries to grab some class size data as the above OP mentioned an horrendous class size. |

Good topic, I'm being farmed out to a middle school this summer. I'd like to know "how many more" than forty from those respondents. |

They provide an apartment at the school. One time commute from my current location to the school and return. |

3 of my 4 years has been teaching junior middle students.
My first year in China class sizes were huge, between 70-90 students. Then went down to 50 my second year. Taught senior for a year and the average was around 40. This year was my lowest year yet. My biggest class had 40 but the average was low 30's. Smallest class had 26 students in it!
Farmed to a middle school during the summer? Is it a summer camp or for the students that are unfortunate not to have much of a holiday (my grade 8's don't finish until the end of July)? |

I'm not sure, it's through an agreeement with the university. This middle school has won many government awards for outstanding students, so maybe they're just ultra-motivated (the administration, that is ). |

That also means you don't get the summer holidays! |

It lasts from mid-July to mid-August. Two hours per day, three days a week, different city, good coin. I like it. |

Which is illegal and you're still doing it? You are not allowed to work at locations that are not indicated in the main address of your certifying credentials - school certificate, etc. |

It is not illegal. The president of the university applied for and received authorization. |

On second thoughts can we stick with the public sector.
I expect that parents wouldn't stand for the high numbers of students in classes that they were paying for. |
