Why is it that I hardly ever see anything written on this board about the American University of Sharjah or the University of Sharjah? People do actually teach there, don't they?

Could it be that the ELT faculty is satisfied at those institutions? No, that couldn't be it. Happy and satisfied English teachers is simply too strange a notion to comtemplate. I am confused.

Hi Mr Nutty,

Tis a mystery why we don't see them here. You note that very few HCT people post here either. I suspect that they may be working harder?? Smile

All of the people that I know who have been or are working at AUS liked the place. It seems that few people leave and they rarely advertise, so they are getting applicants and new hires with no problems. Next year the EFL department will have a new director, as the well-liked previous director moves away from the headaches of managing EFL teachers Wink back into the classroom. Hopefully his replacement will do as well.

UOS went through massive growing pains the first few years, but things seem to have been quiet for the last couple of years. The last teacher that I knew there left before this current year.

It would be great if some current staff would come on and confirm or deny my comments.
