I would assume that this issue came from the right of Canadian politics who are in power right now. But there is a cure here for Canadians... avoid working in Saudi Arabia. There are other and better jobs in the rest of the Gulf and I don't think this issue exists for those countries.
Or perhaps it has and no one has posted about it on the other branches.

So then us few ugly Canadians remain here and will surely dwindle until the last one leaves. Then no more Canadians in Saudi Arabia. Well I guess I'll head off to Cuba where there are no Americans (legally). GRIN GO.
