Hey all

Some of you might have seen my posts asking about English First Urumqi a few months ago.

A few people have PM-ed me since my posts, asking me if I ended up joining EF Urumqi, and if I did go, what I thought about it.

Firstly, yes, I did go - and I am here now. Smile

Secondly, I absolutely love it. I was really stressed before I went, as there is a lot of negative information floating around about EF, and I think some of it must be true: in the past, or in other EF branches. But I can say that EF Urumqi rocks. The city is a blast, the team here is huge and absolutely fab - 11 foreign teachers, and growing. Plus we have a new(ish) DoS, Ian, who's British and brilliant.

NB - I had heard rumours about a bad DoS before Ian - whether this is true or not (I know details but I won't go into them), he's no longer here, and Ian has done wonders for the school.

Anyway: my message - some EF experiences ARE fantastic. Secondly, if you want some positive, yet honest, feedback about someones experiences at EF - send me a message and I'd be happy to tell you how it's all going for me and put you in touch with others.

Take care, and thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts about EF with me before I left (good and bad)! Much appreciated I know some people had bad experiences, and I that you just wanted to save other people from having to experience such things too. Thankfully my case isnt one of those. Thanks!

Cath

You should write this in the Job Information Journal. It is always refreshing to hear about good places to be.

Hi Cath,

Nice post, and glad to hear you took the plunge regardless of the negative opinions about EF and/or Urumqi. Not only is your experience a good one, but it's a very reliable account - straight from the horse's mouth, as it were.

Steve
