| To avoid problems,, you'll need a Saudi license. International license may officially be legal, but it likely won't fly with the cop on the street. |

Dear Gulazar,
"I wonder if it works in Saudi."
As with your home county's driver's license, you can drive for up to three months after arrival with an IDL.

So my precious California DL is only good for three months? How many days, weeks, or months does it take to get a Saudi one? |

Dear al_Californian,
That may depend on how much wasta your employer (if he deigns to help you) has.
If you're on your own, well, impossible to say, really. Too many unknowns.

Playstation games will not work on units that you buy here they are region coded. So North American units and games stay there unless you bring both unit and games with you. The only problem is if you buy games in Saudi they won't work on your North American system.

I would recommend renewing it before you go. I don't know about Saudi, but in other Gulf countries I have known people where it wasn't accepted because their home country license didn't have a year or more to go.
They were required to go through the whole driving lessons nightmare.
