I'm supposed to start working in Saudi the week of aug 25th, but my visa is not coming for another 5-6 weeks apparently. My question is: will the school in saudi just hire someone to replace me and forget about me, or do they wait and you just start the job whenever you get there regardless of how late it is (i.e. school already started). I'm so worried and would appreciate your insights. Thank you |

Generally speaking, it's not that unusual to arrive late. It's not so much about you per say, but has more to do with the Saudi system within. It is Ramadan now and not much gets done during this holy month.
I admit it is frustrating that they do not communicate to let you know what's going on, but this is also part of their method of madness, I mean hiring practice. It may also depend on who your employer is...and where you are from...
If everything is in order regarding your visa application and the Saudi Embassy is processing your application, then it is just a matter of time.
What stage of the visa process are you currently at? |

Thank you for replying.
I am in the process of getting my medicals done. There are a few tests that I was supposed to get done that weren't done, so this has delayed the process considerably. |
