Hello all

I would appreciate it if someone would recommend a pet transport agency in Riyadh that could expedite the transport of my two cats from the USA to the Saudi capital.

Thank you,

Thanks for the links, but I was looking for recommendations of specific agencies that deal with the logistics so I don't have to.

I'm sure the OP has a wonderful cat, but there are billions and billions of homeless cats all over KSA. If you are not able to ship Kitty-Boo-Boo over, you can always help out a cat in need once you get to KSA. Very Happy

I second that e-motion!!!

I would never put my puddy tat through all that terrible traumatic experience of travel.

Too many homeless cats here; I'm already feeding about 5-6 of them even though they are feral cats, they still need to eat!!!
Frustrating thing about Saudi society- most lack compassion towards animals!!!

I do agree that it is silly to spend all that money to take cats to a country where there are thousands on the street. The problem is that I have no one to leave my cats with here in the country I am living in. Otherwise, this wouldn't be an issue! Embarassed

Shebab--I had no problems in the KSA or the U.S. traveling with my cat. Please feel free to pm me if you would like to know about the process, costs, and logistics.

I spent a bunch of time and some money getting paperwork done to bring my cat to Saudi and when I got to the airport no one bothered to look at it. However, the airlines take their pet policies very seriously so make sure that you read them carefully before purchasing your ticket.

I took my cat to KSA. If they are not large cats Saudi air and Luftansa will allow you to take the cat on the plane with you. Saudi air was cheap, I think the fee was less than 50 bucks and the other was about 200.

Lynnknows,

You make it all sound so effortless! The whole process overwhelmed me ever more than getting my own Saudi visa. That, and the pet transport agencies' cheery emails offering to help me part with the US$6000 it would cost to ship them to Saudi in case I got my papers before the cats did....I finally gave them to a good home before I returned to the US to start my visa processing.

Shabab,

Sorry you had a rough time. I didnt , I did not use any transport agency. I did all the paperwork myself. I showed them the paper before we left the country and again when we arrived.
I guess if my cat was larger then I would have used a service but my cat just went on the plane with me.
It seems like when you ship the cat its more work.

Our cat has been all over with us. Egypt, Kuwait, Oman. Ive never had a problem. Not to say people dont. I just gave my experience.

Same with me.... my 2 Perisans have Cat Passports.... they have lived in 4 countries with me USA, France, Lebanon, Egypt.

Keep them with you in the plane!
Or one up and one downstairs

It can be done!

Dont give away your cats!

Personally I am suspicious of humans who are in the constant company of a "familiar". A test for witchcraft should be administered. Bear in mind that witchcraft and sorcery are capital offences in KSA.
