				| Sorry to open up a non-academic topic, but does anyone know if the typical 60L backpacks used to traipse around on vacation for weeks at a time are available in Riyadh? I would like to buy one to use in the Haj holiday but fear that these are only for sale in countries where people enjoy traipsing!
Thanks in advance for any answers!

				| Try sports equipment shops and luggage shops in the malls. | |

				| Dear shebab
Go to Batha - the "luggage souk." You can buy all sorts of great, locally-made backpacks there. I've got two that I brought home with me that I'm still using.

They're really sturdy and last (seemingly) forever, and the cost is much more reasonable than at the malls/sports equipment stores (especially if you haggle.)

 Regards,
 John

				| Batha is the place to go for everything in Riyad. Like the Balad in Jeddah. Forget those shiny new Shopping Malls ! | |
