Hi. How much easier is it to apply for jobs from within Japan than from the outside? I am asking because I already have my visa but I would like to keep my options open after I arrive.

What type of Visa? tourist,work,student?

The job market is deffinetly larger if you life in the country as most companies would prefer face to face interviews. With the increased job market you will also be prepared for travel costs/living costs and unless you want to work on a tourist visa usually a 4-6 week period where your visa status gets changed

If you are already in Japan, odds are better for you because you can now apply to all positions (otherwise, some state categorically that they only want applicants from people living in Japan).

However, your odds improve even more if you have a work visa, too.

The more experience you have in Japan also makes your situation look more favorable.

Beyond that, it's up to you and your personality and interviewing skills.
