Just out of curiosity, what are you basing that comment on? Its not very helpful unless you explain why. I know two people who got pretty good jobs though them. But, I think it is a mixed bag, it depends on when you are looking, if its a high demand time of the year you could likely get a job on your own. However, it is my understanding that there are some schools they do not advertise and only get teachers through them. And it depends on where you want to go. If you are looking for a job in Mexico City or Guadalajara, forget it, there are loads of jobs, if somewhere else, it might be worth a try. |

I knew someone who paid them some money and didn't hear anything back.
I've heard at best they are a glorified CV forwarder. I guess some people always get lucky (you probably know the only 2, lol). But I know I wouldn't bother paying a fee for that - especially as the vast majority of such places don't charge up front and only take their cut after they've found you a job. |

I haven't been a customer of their service, nor do I know of anyone who has at this point in time. So I cannot offer advice based on experience. I know thats what you're looking for, but I'd like to chime in.
I have been trying to research them for a while. I've also had several e-mail discussions with the current director. The discussions have been fruitful, from my vantage point. The director seems personable, direct, and not beating around the bush. For instance, when I asked if I could build a good savings with any one of their contacts, the director kindly directed me to Asia. I feel that a 'headhunting' recruiter would not be asking me to look at the other store down the road. The director said jobs will have enough pay relative to locality, and may be able to save a bit, but not in terms of what the obvious ones like korea and japan do. I think I plan to save before going to south america, so maybe in a few years.
People give good advice, that one should not be paying lots of money to a recruiter to have a job, it is really the school that should be paying the recruiter.
But the price is 39.99$, which for me, is really not 'headhunting' prices. I really don't consider that a hugely risky investment if it doesn't pan out. And they say it's a lifetime membership, which means, you could theoretically be sending them your Resume every semester, and hope that someday you get chosen.
I probably will try them out one day, but first, I must save more. |

I have a little bit of experience with them and I think it's kind of a scam. Before I moved to Rosario, Arg, I found their site and decided to ask them about what positions they had in Argentina. I didn't get really any specific info in response, but was urged to pay for the membership. I didn't do it because it seemed kind of odd.
So after moving to Rosario, I saw on their website that they apparently had 10 kindergarten positions available. I immediately sent an e-mail to Dahlia (I think that was the director's name) and she said there were no positions in Rosario.. Even though the website had positions here listed CLEARLY.. Kinda gave me the impression that all these positions they had listed were straight up lies. |

I'm thinking of using this company in the future. One reason is that access to their jobs is lifelong, and if you don't find a job the first time you apply, presumably you can apply for something with them later, after you've gained more experience elsewhere. Also, there are a few countries they deal with that rarely seem to advertise online, and if your plans include one these countries, perhaps it's worth using this company on the offchance that you might get lucky.
It's probably not worth paying to use them just the once for a country that's fairly accessible otherwise. |

I think their idea is great and they are a great resource if you're not expecting big things. Seems to me like an agency who isn't connected well enough yet.
We enlisted and got several emails (in the region of 4 or 5) for menial jobs I wouldn't take unless I really wanted a job in that country, or was willing to work for CELTA newbie rates. Many of the offers were not FT - perhaps only 4 or 8 hours a week.
It will give you a good start or is good if you really want a job in a specific country, |
