I've come to dread weekends, and LOVE mondays with a passion. |

Yeah... Monday is actually "humpday" in US vernacular... ie Wednesday. Even after 15+ years in the Middle East, I had trouble with this. My students quickly learned to laugh at my constantly mixing this up.

Dear VS,
The reverse is also true. After spending a while in Saudi and returning to the "West," it's hard to shake the idea that Thursdays and Fridays aren't the "weekend."

In other words, we become permanently "confused." But we can always blame it on age.

Sort of what I envision retirement to be like...not having to think or worry about what day it is...during the summer vacations I never pay attention to the specific days...to me they are all Friday & Saturday / or as in Saudi Arabia Thursday & Friday Except when it comes to doing business... showing up at the bank...wondering why it is closed or a specific appointment...then it becomes problematic again |

I never had problems with that - although I still ahve, atr the age of 65, problems with right/left. A bit like getting your head around currencies. I knew guys who in their N-th year in Saudi would still talk about prices in Pounds !
