That's pretty reassuring. I've read some pretty scary stories on here about hours and payment through LanguageLink. I had assumed it's like most everything else in the world where you only really hear the few horror stories, but all the good experiences go undocumented.

It sounds like they will be the way to go.

Just keep in mind that I am one person at one school. Also, I had few expectations coming here. I think if you are willing to be open to a little bit o'crazy, you'll be fine no matter where you go. What does your girlfriend say?

She's about 85-90% in. I need to sell it to her a little bit more. I feel like a certain piece of jewelry would seal the deal. ha ha.

Hey DM, don't worry, you'll be fine. Russia's great! Just prepare to knuckle down and work hard for a few months and then you can always go somewhere else if necessary. There are plenty of other language schools out there, not to mention opportunities for private students.

The fact that you have a basis in Russian is a huge plus for you and you'll pick it up again in no time.

I agree with other points of view that it's probably best to go for a McSchool for now and the reason is your accommodation. Finding a flat can be a bit of a nightmare out here and I think, to begin with, it's best to have that all sorted while you find your feet.

Hi everyone, I'm looking at joining Language Link. Posts on here from 2009 absolutely slam it, but posts from 2011 seem more positive. Anyone got up to date experience ?
