Was about ready to make a decision when this comes along, School sent me a contract with the dates Sept 1 to July 31 I asked when this would be signed and they told me........ " 30 days after teaching".

I then asked what was up with that and they replied.

"it is kind of testing period to see how is the teacher's performance.Hope you could understand that."

They have sent me an invitation letter and I plan on coming on a Z visa.
Wouldn't this z tie me to that school? What if after 30 days they said " No "
Thre I am with a z visa to teach in that school??? I have seen a lot of recrulitment contract and I have heard of any thing like this Help........
Thanks for any help. Tom

Hi Tommy,

My contract had a one month probationary period in it. I can't imagine they wouldn't keep you, unless you're a raving alcoholic or some such. My contract also said that it had to signed again, in China, in person, within 30 days of the day I arrived.

The Z visa doesn't really tie you to the school. When I got my visa in Houston they didn't even look at the school's contract (caveat - your country may do it differently). It's the stuff (green book, red book) you'll get over here that ties you to the school.

Good luck,
Peggie

Would have loved to have helped you quickly, but as you know, the board has been down for a while.

I wouldn't sweat it. They just want to see what parents think of you.

Teaching ESL (for thew most part) is all show and games for mummy and daddy.

Just do your best.

If not, there should be no problems moving on, as the Visas are all provincially tied, so you can just take your pick of another province.
