Hmm, can't seem to access the Stanley Cup pool thread - is this a plot on the part of my neighbors to the north?
Anyway, I just wanted to gloat a little. As I recall my posting on that thread went something like this:

It'll go seven games, but Tampa Bay will prevail. Remember, you read it here first.

Lord, I'm good.

Sorry, all you Canadian guys and gals, but it was an exciting end to the season (and maybe, from what I've been reading, to professional hockey itself - at least for a while). All the games were hard-fought cliff-hangers and it really could have gone either way.
Regards,
John

Bah, humbug to Tampa Bay.

Whoever heard of a hockey team in sunny Florida anyways?

Crying or Very sad

At least there is one piece of information worth mentioning:

51% of all NHL players are Canadian.

Bah! Humbag.

HUMBUG I say!!!!!!!

[Ahem]

Congats Tampa Bay... Embarassed

Since Tampa Bay won the cup on Monday, I haven't been able to access Dave's...my conspiracy theory is the Dave is a Calgary fan and he didn't want me to gloat about the outcome of the finals. Regardless, the fact remains...

Cheers,
Kirk

They do indeed. They were the better team and I was cheering for them the whole time. This from a guy who lives not far down the road from where the Shames play.

I will point out, however, that this has nothing to do with one country beating another. there are more Canadian players on the Bolts than there are on the Flames.

Why did I cheer for them? The type of hockey was simply more exciting and pure, like the Flying Frenchmen and the Great Oiler teams.

I do give the Flames their due. They played harder than any team I've ever seen and overcame more serious injuries than anyone. Kudos to Mr. Sutter.

I`m not sure what happened to my Stanley Cup thread. It wasn`t me honest, didn`t I say Tampa would win? Wink Congrats John, you picked Tampa in 7. I don`t know who else chose them because you`re the only one blowing their own horn.
Maybe it was the Stanley Cup thread that brought Dave`s site down, he must be a Flames fan.

Well, I actually predicted Tampa to win when they beat out my beloved Habs, but I had no idea that Calgary would take it as far as they did. Both teams fought hard, it was good hockey, too bad it wasn't on TV...

And Sutter for the Jack Adams!

Give the Lightning their due, they earned it. Well picked, John. That said, I have to feel for the Flames, they showed a lot of heart. A video replay, a video replay; my muddled kingdom for a video replay... Actually, living in the muddled kingdom, I'd just love to see the games instead of clips on the 'net.
