It isn't about lasting when my fellow Muslims in KSA don't live to the same standards they preach. Not about being bitter either, just telling the truth of what they are. Supposed religious men chase other men for sex, the women are treated less than camels unless they are wealthy, and the youth have no clue on what the reality of the world is or any work ethic.
If you think they will honor a contract, for the most part they won't and I have been through a couple of scoundrels, both private and government university. The basic mindset of the Saudi is they are superior to most people, they don't have to work because Uncle, Dad, or Cousin will hook them up with money or a job they don't have to work much at. Saudization is a joke because even Saudis don't want to hire Saudis because they are so lazy.
Just look at how long it takes to do a visa, should take two weeks but takes months. The enjaz website is a wreck, the MOFA website is a joke, and basically any technical website in Saudi Arabia is so bad you cannot accomplish what you need to. It is though they are in the 90's yet with technology but have spent billions on it, oh wait I forget the amount skimmed off is more than half so only millions spent.
Recently an article came out stating that KSA is next for the Arab Spring or civil war like Syria and I full believe it because of the amount of people treated as slaves or darn near close to it have had enough. Laugh all you want, do your normal criticisms, etc but KSA is only a brief CV mark for me because why waste your time when these employers are basically out to rip you off. It got me in the door for MENA and now I can go somewhere better. |

| Well then, I wish your students good luck. With you for a teacher, they'll need it. |

How foolish you are, you make a judgement and don't know me or ever met me. I am a very good teacher, patient, but not a fool. This is all that seems to happen on this board, is someone makes a truthful statement and the attacks begin.
You can drink the "cool-aid" and love KSA but not all of us have to. I have a sister and brother-in-law in Riyadh and they hate it as well, he an engineer and her a doctor. They were promised the world but delivered barely anything, which is typical. My brother-in-law and I laugh at how outrageous and deceitful Saudis are. He helps build all the hotels and constantly sees corruption and theft from the Saudi management.
My point of coming was financial and to get my foot into Oman or Dubai. Even as a Muslim, I know KSA is a lost nation and not worth wasting my time. But it doesn't mean I don't do my job well. The students aren't bad but lack many skills which they will never have an opportunity to develop in KSA, unfortunate but reality. But that is the reality of the entire nation. |
