Just had a phone call from Saudi. It's the end of the month and, once again, NO PAYDAY at SRACO! Tomorrow, being their weekend, means employees can't be paid before the 3rd of next month, which is the weekend in the U.S. - so money can't be sent home before 6th at the earliest! SRACO couldn't care! Last month no apologies and didn't even answer their phone!! BEWARE - avoid this company at all costs!!!!!

Couldn't agree more!!! We haven't been paid - just got a call from a colleague who is very upset and for whom it will cause great difficulties.
What is annoying is there is no email to inform us in advance (when they realise that it won't be paid on time), phones are not answered and, absolutely, no apology!!!
It's also the little things that are annoying!! I need bank statements for my mortgage back home! Sraco must simply throw them away!! I went several months with no statement. After calling them and emailing and visiting, I finally got a statement. The following few months NOTHING! After a big argument, again I got a statement. I have received nothing again for over six months! They appear totally uninterested in contractors - strange since that is there job!!
I won't start on the big problems!!

Why would they have your bank statements?

SRACO were the contractors who provided the Bengali cleaners where I worked. They seemed happy enough

need an address for mail to be delivered to! As a contractor (no Aramco accommodation) that is Sraco. They simply don't deliver it - ever! There are ways round it - it is the principle that they can't even be trusted to deliver your mail. Even late would be fine!

This brings back memories of a company called Kollsman Saudi Arabia Ltd, a contractor to the Saudi Air Force and former employer. This company often paid 2-3 weeks late. The Air Force took over paying salaries during the last 6 months of Kollsman's contract, but paid up to one month late. The government can't even be trusted to pay on time.

Other post about ARAMCO and SRACO etc was locked becasue of asinine coimments.

I have heard from the horse's mouth at SRACO -

"Thank you for your interest joining our organization, however, we are currently in needs of younger generation ages to 54 years old "

I applied for an Aramco gig with Midwest.

They set me for an interview in Manila, then pulled a ghost on me as the time was nearing.

After I pressed them I got a very terse email from Sraco (who I never heard of til then) telling me that they had no Canadian visa's so the interview was off.

I thanked them, told them I understood, and nicely asked when I might be able to apply again...

They sent back a very terse email along the lines of... "We told you that there are no Canadian visas! Better luck next time!"

Ha!

Due to this attitude and a general lack of knowledge I thought I was talking to Aramco's recruiting division and thought they must pay well if they can treat people like that...

Aramco do almost no direct hiring of EFL teachers. Contractors are generally scumbags.

The latter was my experience in Korea, as well.

My first job there fell apart within the first 4 days, and there was no support, whatsoeva. Razz

Contractor or recruiter ? There is a big difference. A contractor hires you and then sells your labour-power, collecting the monthly fee and giving you a share. A recruiter merely recruits and hands you over to your new Master.
