Hi,

Does anyone know anything about this school?
Also, any advice or opinions on living in Trieste would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Trieste is very windy but nice. Not sure about the school.

Some trivia: James Joyce went first to Trieste upon 'fleeing Ireland and her nets'. He too taught English there and by all accounts enjoyed it.

It's what you make of it though mate. Good luck.

Can't comment on the school but I moved to Trieste in Autumn 2012... moved away again after 1 month. It's very beautiful, friendly and safe but for me, it was too boring - everyone I met was either a married couple or a pensioner! I also didn't earn enough money in my teaching job to really enjoy the travel opportunities, restaurants, shopping, hobbies etc that Trieste offers so it's more my fault than the city's. I loved that it was very easy to get to Venice on the train though.

Oh yeah and it's no joke about the wind - it's called the Bora and is amazingly strong. Tie your hat down with elastic under the chin if you go outside!

Hi!

I've lived in Trieste for 4 years now. I've heard both good and bad things about the British Institute.
As for living in Trieste, well, as has been mentioned in the other responses, Trieste is a very boring city. There is not much to do, short of getting out of Trieste, which is also difficult if you want to get across the border (for some reason, there are only two buses per day to Croatia or Slovenia).
It's a beautiful city, but definitely boring unless you can get into a nice circle of friends, which is also very hard to do.

PM me if you need/want any more help!

Paul
