I know this is a requirement to teach in China. Is it acceptable to have at least 2 yrs. working experience that is PT? I have teaching/tutoring experience and will be awarded a 120 hour TEFL certificate.

I have a BA degree and am a US citizen.

Thank you!Smile

Don't ask. Don't tell. You have 2 years experience. Great.

Not all provinces require two years teaching experience to obtain a working visa.

Just put down that you did a few years of peer tutoring in high school or training at the workplace.

Unless you're planning to work in Beijing or Shanghai at some heavy strict place, you're fine.

If you can add 'Caucasian' to those creds you're a shoo in.
Look at provincial level schools rather than hard core Shanghai or BJ.

Hehe. But I did see a school that requested a 'Black' teacher. For a basketball program. Gotta love it.

Laughing Arrow Shocked Arrow Confused

Gotta love the Chinese, indeed. About as subtle as a sledgehammer blow to the cranium.

Good ole fashioned stereotypes...silliness prevails in Our China. Confused
