dudeteacher,
Listen to what people are telling you here. What you are contemplating is not a good idea for soooooooooooo many reasons.
As long as people like you continue to take c**p jobs like this, nothing will ever change in this country.

You're confused, who said I was taking this job.
Even as a novice on the Chinese TESL industry I could tell the money was wanting. I was so shocked at the offer I put here for all to see just in case I had missed something.
Choudoufe thanks for that input. I am wary of such cities.
However, it now makes sense why they are saying that Degrees aren't relevant. With that pay and the pollution, it must be a hard sell.

Doesnt look like it would be a nice area to work in, judging by peoples reaction ... but who can say if its a good or bad deal without actually know more about the job itself and the hours?
Someone who is quite active on this forum only teaches about 4 hours a week. From 4500 + a housing allowance for 4 hours a week would be good wouldnt it?
Some others teach in excess of 20 hours per week plus office hours. From 4500 + a housing allowance for that wouldnt be too clever.
Ive looked through twice and havent seen any details about the actual job or hours, just about the package. So who can really tell if its a good deal or not?
(Id agree its PROBABLY not too good, but once again, it looks like everyone is making a decision based just on a monthly salary, which is rarely the whole story)
Again, dudeteacher - you mention the degree needed / not needed thing, but dont state if you have one? (or any equivalent Level 6 qualification that would qualify for visa regulations etc) |

That contract sounds like a contract from the notorious "Hangzhou Helen".

The website should have the info needed to contact the school directly so that you do not have to deal with Zhejiang University Helen Chinatefl Network Co., Ltd. |
Hmm, I've been in contact with a Helen ( FengHaiyuan <[email protected]>) about a job in Hangzhou. Dunno about "helengroup"..
Dunno if I should be concerned. |
