Hello,

I posted this on the Saudi page but thought it could also go here:

Hello,

I'm currently completing a MA in TEFL and have been teaching at a Uni in Korea for 2 years. I have 14 more months on this contract and am ready to move to the Middle East.

Though there are a lot of "jokers" who post on these threads, I know there are decent teachers/professionals in the Kingdom. I'm hoping to network with some people who could help me in my transition to the Middle East. I am a good worker and I work to maintain good relationships with my fellow employees.

Let's chat!

Eric

You mean you are looking for a job. Say what you mean.

Not looking for a job. I always say what I mean. Trying to make contacts and get insight into the region. You had been rather helpful on the Saudi thread.

Information is available by reading posts. If you are not looking for a job, are you just a time-waster ?

If that is the case, why read or respond to my posts?

I continue to receive insightful information whenever I post a question on this website. Many posters seem happy to share their experience, offer suggestions, or even contact me directly.

I've been in the UAE for a year and a half now, and while I don't know everything, I do know some things. Cool PM me or reply to the thread and I'll do what I can!

Thank you . . . I'll be in contact soon. I think it's great when people help each other out on ESL cafe . . . it's good for us as xpats . . . and is ultimately good for the students and clients we work for.

Cheers

Hi,

Ive always worked between UAE and KSA. UAE is very modern. You are free. I think you should start there. TRY these places:

Zayed University
ADEC

You should find yourself a place. Whats Korea like? How are the people? Whats the culture like?

In the UAE and KSA religion is important however in the UAE you are free to do what you like from clubbing to sports to walking in the mall with shorts. There are some limits but not like Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is a tough place to be.

I think you have good qualifications. You ll find something. I think you can start up with 10 000 aed if not more. Run a search on google to find positions. Now till May -you ll find good positions after that its not all that.. GOOD LUCK!
