I try to avoid it as much as possible. Sometimes it is unavoidable.
I do get a kick out of the occasional student who thinks it's "cool" to try to flip someone off, but they don't quite know how to do it properly. It reminds me of students who will wear any shirt with English on it, no matter what it says.
