Post deleted.

My opinion is worth a lot less than Babala's actual experience posted below.

I'm a DOS at EF however I must state that my particular centre only does corporate training. I am lucky that I have a great owner and CD. There are definately pro's and con's.

Pro's

-you work less teaching hours
-you work directly with both foreign and Chinese staff so you see both sides of the coin
-EF encourages teachers to stay and there are quite a few incentives
-I am able to have a lot of input into course material
-in CLT we don't have the crazy summers that other EF schools do
-I can hire who I want (in my school we do not take new teachers, they need some experience)

Con's

-you are the go between management and teachers
-some teachers can be a serious pain in the @ss (i feel very lucky as I have a great staff) but in the past.... if a drunk teacher gets locked out of their apartment at 2am, guess who they are calling
-I have to deal with corporate clients who can be very demanding
-you have to learn to pick your battles

All in all, I really like my job but it all boils down to who you work with. As I said before, I have wonderful Chinese and foreign staff so that definately makes my job enjoyable.

From my observation over the years it is the 'ownership' that is the big variable.
EF generally seem to be franchises, which sets up that variability.
I think there needs to be two aspects. The other is company-owned outlet models such as Disney.
