Hello,
I tried doing a search but for some reason the search page came up blank.
I'm interested in finding out more info about Nanjing Foreign Language School. Is it the same one that has the Xialin Campus?
I know that it is a full immersion school and they work with curriculums from Australia, Canada etc.
Does anyone have any information on the positives and negatives of this school.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Cheers. |

Our school supplied a bus this morning for a Metro shopping expedition, and on the way we passed by the Xianlin campus of Nanjing Foreign Language School. It is a large, modern building. A lot of rich kids attend this middle school. We foreign teachers know to avoid that area when school lets out because the roads are blocked by parents in their Mercedes, BMW, and Audi automobiles. |

Ah, I worked at the Xianlin campus. Honestly I couldn't stand the place - the students never brought their books to class, getting photocopies was a two-day ordeal, the co-teachers that I was told would be in class with me to help control the kids were never present (I taught middle school, rough lot that was), going to school to be told that all classes were cancelled that day and looking surprised that I was there (no one told me of course) - there are much better gigs in Nanjing.
I do wonder though if Chinese Jim still works there. It was always a pleasure getting texts from him before 6am to remind me about the 3pm meeting or whatever was going on later that day. |
