| The Airline would not keep employees on after 60 Hegira. (= 58 and a third Gregorian). So I wentt to KGUPM and that turned out to be a better place to work ! I stayed there for eight years - with a semester out in the aftermath of the Oasis Massacre whi9ch was only a couple of km away from campus. |

The Hijgri year is shorter than the Gregorian year. This is the reason their holidays (and paydays) seem to move forward slowly from year to year. To adjust, add one to the Gregorian year for every 17 Hijgri. Example: You are 60 Gregorian. 60/17=4. So you are 64 Hijgri.
Well...I squeezed into my military job here at 59 Gregorian some four years ago. Where I am, Gregorian is the standard for hiring. It caps at 60, but there's no longevity limit that I've seen, up to 70 or so.
I do hear they prefer to hire 45-55. |

I still do not see it as "Forced Retirement".. As foreigners we have no entitlement or right to work. We have time-limited contracts. At some point these contracts will not be renewed.
You make it sound like we are going to be dragged screaming to the Airport and depoprted ! |
