My cousin (who is vietnamese) speaks reasonably good english and tutors/teaches twice a week after university.
I think she pulls in around 60,000D/hour (about 3$/hour), 6-8 hours per week. I think she's almost halfway though university, so that's about 20% higher than most other part time jobs I've heard of in HCMC, and she's her own boss. Seems like a pretty sweet deal.
My neighbor does the same thing, but for university physics and has a class size of ~20. I don't know what she makes, but she seems to be doing quite OK. I'm tempted to offer to run a few labs for fun
