I am interested in learning Korean and would appreciate recommendations for Korean language programs - I would prefer to be outside of high cost of living cities such as Seoul. As I am fluent in Japanese, I would also prefer a program designed for Japanese students.
Although I would prefer to be outside of Seoul, I would also like to teach part-time. Is this possible in smaller cities?
Lastly, I'm 55 years old. Will this be an issue with regards to finding a part-time job? I do have an MA in Japanese history and an LLM in international trade law and I am admitted to the New York bar.
TIA

To briefly answer your query before this thread is locked:
Part time work as a teacher, legally, is unlikely. You get to jump through the visa hoops like everyone else who wants to be a teacher. Most employers won't go through the hassle for a part-time worker and certainly are unlikely to do it for a teacher who is not in Korea.,

If you are American you will need a certified true copy of your undergrad degree with an apostille affixed AND you will need a current (less than 6 month old) FBI check with an apostille AND if you hold Japanese permanent residence and immigration is made aware of it you can add a Japanese police check (translated to Korean and legalized for international use) as well.

Korean language instruction is available but a program structured for Japanese learners is not likely outside of Seoul or Busan.
