So I've heard. I'll report back on these new leads to let people know what's up. Two schools have told me they can get me in with an Associates.

Yep ... and the next words you will hear are 'Just come over on a tourist visa, and we'll organise everything when you are here ...'.

I won't go on those terms. I'm not even being picky, but I don't want to get deported before I can even pay my flight expenses (there and back.)

I have a BA and 4 years of experience and had to have my paperwork submitted 2x because it was rejected the first time. Sometimes it depends on what mood the person is in who looks at your paperwork. Completely random at times. (This was in Guangzhou so I will agree it's a bit rougher here).

When you are 'legally' qualified to work and the application is rejected then you have to put it down to a mistake / error, but when you aren't 'legally' qualified it's a different matter I think.

@pjmazza - I think you are always going to be running a risk without a degree. If you are even semi-serious it would be worth investigating how to turn your associates into a full BA/BSc. Im sure you will find something now, but its only going to get harder and harder to keep finding secure, stable and reliable employment if you don't meet what are generally regarded as the minimum qualification.

Spot on. I'd love to go back to school for another 2 years, but if I can work and go to school at the same time that's even better. I'm thinking maybe an international school in China since I hope to live there long term.

Id have a look at a distance learning program. Your AA should give you credits towards a BA/Bsc (I think?).

If you want to stay in China getting the required qualifications is a must I think. The international school circuit is probably going to be impossible without proper quals ....
