Hi,

I'm a freelance journalist and I'm looking for someone of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Professor level to do a case study on for an article that will be published in the UK.

The person should be currently working (or have recently worked) in a University in China preferably having been there for at least 3-4 years.

I basiclly need someone with recent and up to date information for my article.

Please email me if you are the person I'm looking for.

[email protected]

best wishes

You're looking for a Chinese person right? There are not many English teachers in China who would hold the positions you mentioned.

Could you clarify?

You probably wont find much here. English teachers, even at unis, in China do not get into the actual professional academic track of the unis. This is mostly from the Chinese side's reluctance.

I think you might be better off contacting people from the British side. People in history, engineering, geology, etc, sometimes spend short stints as visiting professors, guest lecturer...

Probably a more viable option.

Thanks. Do you happen to know anyone who might fit the bill in this area? Anyone you can recommend?

I think you should state if it is paid or unpaid.

I think you can always assume that, unless specifically stated, it's unpaid.

Well,

I've already made assumptions about you two, but I'd better keep them to myself as I'm assuming you wouldn't like them SmileSmile

Given the clarification, I suggest going through the websites of high profile Chinese universities and look for news about foreign visitors.
I don't work for Top Tier schools now, but when I did, I recall they always shouted from the rooftops about any visiting academic.
Once you have a name and the foreign school he/she works for, you have a target for your enquiry.

Thanks Non Sequitur,

I really appreciate your eforts to help out Smile

Ideally I'm looking for Brits who are (a) lecturers or senior lecturers, or (b) Brits who are even more senior i.e. professors, chancellors or vice chancellors of Chinese universities especially ones that have a link to the UK like Ningbo or Liverpool Uni or soon-to-be Middlesex Uni.

Any leads in this area?

You will never find foreigners in this position in China. Ever.
