I am considering a move to Surabaya (Citraland) and am weighing up the pros and cons. I lived in Jakarta for 10 years and left just recently due to the horrendous traffic.
I now have a job offer in Citraland, Surabaya. How much more livable is this part of Surabaya? I imagine Citraland to be quite similar to the BSD/Serpong district in Jakarta. Would this be a fair comparison? How bad does the traffic get in general in Surabaya?
Thanks |

The traffic out there isn't so bad, but if you're going there from any other part of the city, it can be awful depending on the day and time. That said, you probably won't go out of the that area (west) for much of anything. Everything nice and worthwhile is therein my opinion anyway.
It's a lot nicer in Citraland and much more liveable. You can actually walk and it's relatively cleancompared to the rest of Surabaya anyway. It's definitely no 'Singapore of Surabaya' no matter how hard they try. Best of luck in your new position. |
