Greetings:

I thought you might like to hear this. The government just announced to the companies, no more family visas until the employee has worked 9 months in Saudi Arabia. Some of the companies are working to try to change this.

If this is a new ruling, I suspect that it will not be enforced.

It is more likely to be a rumour, perhaps sparked by some employer who invented an excuse for not bringing in an employee's dependants.

I agree with scot47. This might be a story created by a recruiter just so they can save more money like the pimps they are. I know this is hard to belive, but there some recruiters and smaller schools that do lie. Shocked I would think if a school/university has some "wasta', or if you are a direct hire, it will not be enforced if this policy is enacted. But what the heck do I know? Laughing

Teacher A said to Contractor : "I want to bring my family."
Contractor replied to Teacher A : "New Government Regulation - wait for 9 months."

That is how a rumour starts.

Can you provide us cynical people Cool with the link to the government announcement? Perhaps the Arab News or any other publication/website would give us some information.

I will wait, won't I?

Sorry. I couldn't help myself.
