Hey guys.

I came across this thing that will help people get around in Japan (legalities and things). I've had a copy of this for a while now and I think it'd be a help to everyone who wants to go to Japan or is already in Japan. I've got the Kindle version, but I figured it'd be cool to post the Nook version too (please no Nook vs. Kindle flame wars, hahaha).

Rock on.

Kindle version: http://www.amazon.com/Debitos-Guidebook-Relocation-Assimilation-ebook/dp/B00CPUSHGC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370881308&sr=8-1&keywords=debito+guidebook

Nook version: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/arudou-debitos-guidebook-for-relocation-and-assimilation-into-japan-debito-arudou/1115278863?ean=2940016671437

Yeah it's a pretty helpful book. At least it points you in the right direction for various things. Just note that Debito is a political activist and makes a living off of giving the image that foreigners have a big chip on their shoulder through his writing. So, if you delve into his website or column just keep that in mind.

I own a copy of his earlier book (I think it was called Handbook for Newcomers), which he wrote in partnership with a Japanese lawyer, and it was excellent.

Don't worry about Debito's politics. The only agenda this book serves is that of improving the welfare of immigrants by telling them what they need to know.

Here's an excellent book to better understand Japanese politics as influenced from much of the looted wealth from Japanese occupied territories prior to the end of WWII:
